Tom’s Session Descriptions
Reaching and Recruiting the Next Generation of New Volunteers
Credit unions are cooperative institutions with a long history of volunteer governance. A critical concern amongst credit union leaders, however, is how to reach and recruit the next generation of committed, qualified volunteers. In this important session, Tom Glatt will explore the changes that must be made to common credit union governance practices to make credit union volunteer service attractive to new leaders. Tom will then explain how best to reach and develop these leaders for effective service to credit unions. If your credit union is at all worried about the future strength of your volunteer base, then this session is for you.
Products for the Next Generation
The news is awash with articles proclaiming that the next generation of Americans cares nothing for car or home ownership. If this is true, what products must credit unions offer in order to attract the attention of new, younger members—especially if core auto and home loans are of no interest? In this session, Tom will explore the true wants and needs of the next generation of credit union members and dive into the products and services necessary to both service member needs and generate the income necessary for organizational survival.
GC’s Tom Glatt is prepping for an interview about credit union health, and the firm’s health/performance score model. On that note, we just picked up quite a few new score report subscribers at last week’s CU Conferences Social Media Conference in Boston.
